Making an Impact - why some problem management services achieve much more than others

Problem management should make more impact on excellent services than many organisations achieve. Why is that? This presentation sets out the common mistakes that teams build into their approach, such as thinking of it as a process you implement, not something you actually get out and do. We cover skills, picking the right problems, getting to real causes and seeing things through to completion, all areas that are vital to success but often poorly executed.

Gary Percival  - SM4ALL Services

Enterprise, the next generation (ITIL beyond IT)

All enterprises, big or small, commercial or not-for-profit, exist to deliver services to their  customers. Those customers may be business (internal) or public (external), the principles of good service remain the same. ITIL is an ability and skill set to manage these many and varied services. We can expand the ITIL processes to all services. Move from IT Service Management to Enterprise Service Management. Is the rest of the business ready for this? Are we (as IT specialist)? How do we go about it? Who are the early adopters and why?

Stephen Miles - University of  Melbourne
